Jr Wings Successful In Programs First Jr NLL Champions Cup

Oakville, ON - The Jr Wings traveled North over Labor Day weekend to take part in the programs first Jr NLL Champions Cup at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, Ontario.

With players mixed in from Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the Wings had a very successful debut, giving every single team a fight until the final buzzer. 

Leading the way for the Midget team was Teddy Mazaheri (Lampeter Strasburg/Lancaster, PA) who tallied ten points through the tournament. Teddy and the Midgets ended the weekend with a final record of 2-3 with wins over Buffalo and Minnesota and finished third overall.

The Bantams went 1-4 in the tournament, downing Buffalo. Leading their team in points and goals was Bayard DeMallie (Ridgewood/Ridgewood, NJ) with Ten (5G, 5A), along with fellow teammate Grant Hansen (South Jersey Black Storm/Medford, NJ) who also had Ten points and led the team in assists with seven. 

Going 2-4 was the PeeWee's, taking Buffalo down twice. Top point scorer for them was Mason Bregman (Mount Laurel/Mount Laurel, NJ) with 16 total (13G, 3A). Taking the leads with eight assists was Owen Murray (West Chester/West Chester, PA) who tallied 13 points total (5G, 8A).

The three teams will be participating in three more tournaments this winter and look forward to going back to the Jr NLL Champions Cup tournament next year.
