January 17/18, Hatboro, PA
Register NOW for the AILA Heritage Cup, a box lacrosse tournament that will take place over Martin Luther King Holiday Weekend at the BucksMont Indoor Sports Center in Hatfield, PA. The event is being organized and hosted by the American Indoor Lacrosse Association (AILA), which runs the IMG Cup, in cooperation with Heritage Lacrosse, which runs the Liberty Lacrosse Shootout, the Patriot Games and other popular events in the area.
The AILA Heritage Cup will feature box lacrosse goals and lots of action for those looking for multiple touches and fast-paced play. The event is open to youth, high school and adult teams. The competition is expected to be strong. Teams will play 4 forty-minute games, and rules have been designed to limit checking. Goalies will be provided box lacrosse gear for use during play, courtesy of Boddam Goalie Equipment. The event will also feature a series of coaches' clinics conducted for attendees by Johnny Mouradian, Director of the Canadian National Indoor Lacrosse Program. The clinics will focus on Canadian-style techniques, including the "2-Man Game" and inside scoring tips, to help American players become more effective as the convergence of box and field lacrosse concepts at the college and international level continues to accelerate.
Brackets are organized using the Canadian-style terminology, but provide for the grouping of teams by grade and graduation year given how most travel clubs are set up in the States. Brackets will play on select days (either Saturday or Sunday), as follows:
Saturday, January 17th
Sunday, January 18th
The BucksMont Indoor Sports Center facility features two indoor rinks and is located north of Philadelphia. The venue is conveniently situated within a few hours' drive from a number of lacrosse hotbeds, permitting day trips and ensuring good competition. Space is limited, and registrations will be processed on a first come, first served basis (subject to level of interest and balancing of brackets). To register, please click HERE
We look forward to seeing your teams in action using and developing indoor skills that will improve their outdoor game in the spring and summer. Come to have fun and honor the game and its heritage. Converge on the Cup!
