American Indoor Lacrosse Association

The AILA Rule Book governs competition among and between players and teams playing in AILA-sanctioned leagues.  The AILA's Rules are based on the National Lacrosse League's rules and guidelines which govern competition among the professional teams in the NLL.

Our rules, and any subsequent modification(s), are intended to ensure that every participant in an AILA-sanctioned league has the opportunity to play under safe, fun, and intense competitive conditions.  Our rules are designed to optimize learning opportunities while mitigating any behavior or strategy that impedes the flow, speed, and beauty of the sport.  

Our rules are in a constant state of review and revision for, as like the players, coaches, refrees, and fans of the indoor game, we too constantly seek to learn and improve.  Please review these Rules regularly to stay abreast of the latest changes in our regulations.
