Deerfield Academy Adopts AILA Integrated Program

AILA and IMG teamed up to provide the AILA Integrated Program to Deerfield Academy at Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex in Bradenton, Florida.  Deerfield Academy, a private boarding school in Massachusetts, has many lacrosse alumni in the college ranks and their participation in the AILA Integrated Program helps ensure their players will continue to thrive at the next level.

Chip Davis, Deerfield’s Athletic Director and Head Lacrosse Coach, his assistant coaches and 60 of his players took part in the program.  The camp was led by Johnny Mouradian, AILA President, Head Coach and General Manager of the Philadelphia Wings.  Working with the Deerfield coaching staff and players both indoor and transferring the bio mechanics, principles and tactics to their field game was a real pleasure,” explains Mouradian.

The program is designed to further accelerate the players’ development by having them play both offensive and defensive positions to understand the opposing position and to leverage that insight for success on the field.  Defenseman used short sticks in the same style as indoor players.  The seven and half hour indoor program finished with a three team round robin tournament.  .

Deerfield senior attackman and UVA commit, Joe French said: "Using the box style offense this season has helped our team increase our pace with the ball. The integration of the box elements into our field game and the displayed skills of our players fit the mold of what we want our identity to be when we are attacking.  Almost all of our goals are assisted and we are wearing down teams by the 4th quarter. I love what Johnny and IMG were able to do for us as a team and think that it will make the difference for our team in the crucial games this season."
