PHILADELPHIA WINGS AND AILA PARTNER TO SEND YOUTH LACROSSE TEAMS TO JUNIOR NLL CHAMPION’S CUP

Philadelphia, PA - The Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) are sending three elite indoor (box) lacrosse teams to compete in the Junior NLL Champion’s Cup at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, Ontario over Labor Day weekend 2014 (Friday, August 29 - Monday, September 1).

The Junior NLL program provides players a chance to work alongside professional box players and develop their indoor skills. Team members will wear the same jerseys as their pro teams, play under NLL rules, and be coached by professional personnel associated with their pro affiliates.

Three divisions of athletes will compete for the tournament championship in their perspective age class. Athletes born in 2002 & 2003 will participate in the Pee Wee division, those born in 2000 and 2001 will compete in the Bantam division, and lastly individuals born in 1998 and 1999 will compete in the Midget division.

Elite players from PA and NJ that are available to travel to Toronto over Labor Day weekend are invited to register at
www.ailacrosse.net before April 14th. Qualified players from those registered will be invited to a Junior Wings tryout. Initial tryouts will be scheduled at regional locations in PA and NJ during April and May. All details for the Junior Wings can be found at WingsLAX.com/jrwings.

Philadelphia makes their way back home to host the Calgary Roughnecks on Friday, April 4 at 7 p.m. at Wells Fargo Center.
