Building Blocks Lacrosse (BBL) is proud to announce its partnership with Johnny Mouradian and the American Indoor Lacrosse Association (AILA). Mouradian's tremendous box and field lacrosse, playing and coaching background
and AILA's focus on bringing true Canadian box lacrosse to the US are a
perfect fit for BBL's player development philosophy. BBL will
incorporate AILA's unique box lacrosse training techniques into its year
round training academy and it will also provide an integrated box/field
development program (called In|Crosse) for its girls and boys elite travel teams.
What has set BBL apart from its inception, is its unique and innovative training curriculum. Andrew Hubschmann, founder of BBL remarked, 'We believe in player development above all else. We have been studying box lacrosse for a few years and realized this is the right next step to differentiate our
players. Unlike other programs that offer indoor field lacrosse and
call it box lacrosse it really provides little if any training. We are
working closely with Johnny to teach true Canadian style box lacrosse
skills to our boys and girls. BBL will be offering box academy classes
to enhance our players field skills as well as infuse box into our elite
team training that will improve ball movement, two man games, field
vision, off-ball movement and passing/shooting accuracy.
Johnny Mouradian is in the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame (2001) as a player on the 1978 national team that won the World Field Championships in England, Ontario
Lacrosse Hall of Fame (1998), Ithaca College Sports Hall of Fame
(2000), Lakeport High School Hall of Fame (2003), National Lacrosse
League Hall of Fame, St. Catharines, Ontario Sports Hall of Fame (2008) and Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame (2009) in the Field Player Category. In 2003, Mouradian was GM of the Year for the National Lacrosse League and is currently the Director of the Canadian National Indoor Program.
'We are excited to be working with BBL as they clearly have an established reputation of excellence and are quick to embrace innovation in the ever evolving game of lacrosse' enthused Mouradian. 'Our training techniques will be a
perfect compliment to BBL's field training as we jointly offer an
integrated box/field product.
First up? This fall, new box class offerings in the BBL Academy. In addition, tryouts will be held for boys box travel teams that will play in the fall and winter.
